The hearing started with Donnelly reading the sentencing guidelines and then working through disputes between prosecutors and defense lawyers.

After a brief break, the victims gave their statements before the court with their lawyer Gloria Allred.

“You made me do things that broke my spirit. I literally wished I would die because of how low you made me feel,” said one unnamed survivor, directly addressing a Kelly who kept his hands folded and his eyes downcast. “Do you remember that?”

U.S. District Judge Ann Donnelly announced the final decision after the impact statements were heard by his seven unnamed victims.

A jury found Kelly, 55, guilty of racketeering and other counts last year at a trial that was seen as a signature moment in the #MeToo movement.

When the alleged sexual misconduct first came out about R. Kelly, victims and other participants created a docuseries titled Surviving R. Kelly, women and children were given a platform to voice their experiences and traumas following the sex trafficking scandal.

Prosecutors were seeking a minimum 25-year term, while the defense says a sentence of 10 years or less is all he deserves.

The jury convicted the R&B star after hearing about how he used his entourage of managers and other partners to meet girls and keep them “obedient” in what prosecutors are comparing to a criminal enterprise.

Kelly has been jailed without bail since in 2019. He still faces child pornography and obstruction-of-justice charges in Chicago, where a trial is scheduled to begin Aug. 15.

Kimora Hodges has been charged with the murder of 1-year-old Kyrie

A Roseville babysitter has been charged with murder after a young boy she was caring for last week died of a severe brain injury.

According to FOX 2 News Detroit, Kimora Hodges was charged on Thursday with one count of open murder in the death of Kyrie who would have been 2-years-old in July.

Hodges is being held without bond and will return to court for another hearing.

According to police, Hodges was caring for her friend’s 1-year-old child while she was at work, and phoned her concerned about the way he was sleeping.

It was around 1:50am when Taylor Starks, Kyrie’s mother, received a call from Hodges and she made it to his side in 15 minutes and immediately dialed 911.

At first Hodges said Kyrie was having an allergic reaction to eating soap and Starks believer her until he was seen by a doctor at Ascension St. John.

“He had blunt force trauma to the head and he was bleeding out his ears and had to have immediate brain surgery,” Starks said. “All I know is she threw my son into the wall and shook him up pretty bad and they said that’s just a bit of what she did to him.”

Starks told reporters at FOX 2 that Hodges was a trusted friend and had watched him multiple times before this incident.

Kyrie, 1-year-old

On Wednesday, around 9a.m. Kyrie passed away from blunt force trauma to the head after experiencing no brain activity after the traumatic event.

“He had blunt force trauma to the head and he was bleeding out his ears and had to have immediate brain surgery,” Starks said.

Babysitter Kimora Hodges, who has priors for domestic violence, is now facing charges for murder and is being held on a very high $250,000 bond, no 10-percent.

The Detroit Police Department said a 3-year-old boy, Chase, was found dead inside home on Detroit’s west side early Friday morning after they were called for a welfare check.

According to investigators, the young boy was found dead inside a freezer in the home.

Detroit’s Police Chief James White said the young boy had been decomposing when he was found and applauded the first responders for following their instinct to check the home thoroughly.

“The discovery would not be possible without the officers’ intuition. They recognized there was something not right in the way the occupant was communicating with them,” White said in a press conference Friday.

Police are investigating a mass shooting that took place in the 11 o’clock hour Saturday evening, authorities said.

At least 14 people have been shot and three killed in popular entertainment district on South Street in Downtown Philadelphia. The area is visited frequently by locals and tourists as it’s lined with bars, shops and restaurants.

Police say they were patrolling the area on South Street when they heard multiple gun shots and witnessed several suspects firing into a large crowd just before midnight, Police D.F. Pace said during a news conference.

An office returned fire at one of the suspects about 30 feet away, but it is unconfirmed whether or not the suspect was hit, Pace said.

The Philadelphia Police Department Commissioner, Danielle Outlaw, identified the three victims that were killed Saturday night as 34-year-old Gregory Jackson, 27-year-old Alexis Quinn and a 22-year-old man who’s identity was not released by police.

The American Federation Of Teachers identified him as Kris Minners, a resident advisor for 6th and 2nd grade boys at Girard College.

Kristopher Minners, 22-year-old victim killed in South Street shooting on June 4, 2022.

Minners was said to have been celebrating his birthday with family and friends on South Street prior to being killed in the mass shooting, according to Girard’s College Interim President James Turner.

“Our hearts are broken for Kristopher and his family, and our thoughts are with everyone who was impacted by this appalling act of violence,” Turner wrote in a statement. “I visited with Kris’ parents this morning and the College will continue to offer them every support.”

The 11 shooting victims who survived were a 17-year-old boy; two 18-year-old men; two 20-year-old men; three men aged 23, 43 and 69; two 17-year-old girls; and a 19-year-old woman. Their medical conditions ranged from stable to critical, Outlaw said.

Reports show a record-high of mass shootings happening around the country following the supermarket shooting in Buffalo, New York that left 10 people dead on May 24.

President Joe Biden has addressed the increase of gun violence and calling for stricter gun laws.

A Surgeon and 3 Others Dead After Shooting At Tulsa, Oklahoma Medical Building

Tulsa Oklahoma Shooting + 4 Dead + Surgeon and Staff + Michael Louis

At least four people are dead and multiple people injured following a shooting at the Natalie Building at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Wednesday evening, according to police.

  • Tulsa Oklahoma Shooting + 4 Dead + Surgeon and Staff + Michael Louis

Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at the Natalie building at Saint Francis Health System in Tulsa, Okla. that left four people dead.

Records show Michael Louis, the suspect in the shooting, underwent surgery at the Medical Center by an orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Preston Phillips just a month prior and have had complications since.

According to police, Louis blamed Phillips for the post-op back pain and repeatedly called the clinic complaining about the pain. He came in for a routine post-op check up and didn’t receive additional care after that. Police believe this chain of events resulted in Louis purchasing an AR-style rifle and targeting the surgeon in a revenge rampage.

The shooting left Dr. Preston Phillips, 59, and three others dead.

Amongst the other lives claimed in the shooting, they were later identified as Dr. Stephanie Husen, 48, receptionist Amanda Glenn, 40, and a patient of the clinic William Love, a 73-year-old retired army sergeant.

Tulsa Police Chief Wendell Franklin says Louis turned the gun to himself as police arrived, leaving him dead-on-arrival after killing Dr. Phillips and three others.

Franklin applauded the law enforcement and first responders, 911 operators and emergency for their “immediate response” to the attack Wednesday. Police responded to the call about three minutes after dispatchers received the report at 4:52 p.m. and made contact with the gunman at 5:01 p.m., authorities said Wednesday.

Police believe Louis purchased his AR-style, semi automatic rifle legally on the afternoon of the shooting and killed himself about 39 seconds after the first officers arrived on the scene.

President Joe Biden have addressed the Tulsa shooting and said since the Robb Elementary School shooting that happened last week on May 24 that left 21 people dead including 19 students and 2 teachers, there have been 20 other mass shooting incidents across the country. This doesn’t include the mass shooting that took place 10 days prior in Buffalo, New York or the other carnage that doesn’t make the headlines.

Democratic and Republican leaders have heightened their call for gun restriction laws to change leaving a partisan split that stemmed Congress to respond to record-high number of gun related deaths in the US.
